Hot Cross Bun giveaway on Good Friday

Busy shoppers welcomed free hot cross buns on offer on Good Friday, as Christians from the Churches in Gildersome gave away 1,000 buns in under two hours, outside the Boots store.
As well as keeping hunger pangs at bay the buns generated some interesting conversation around the significance of the cross on them and judging from the smiles and laughter with which they were received, made shopping a more cheerful and sociable time.
A big thank you to the helpers from the Churches who took time out to give away the free hot cross buns.
